Give your lens its own custom protection made specifically for the Canon RF 100-300mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens. This protective camouflage cover is made from 100% neoprene and provides protection against scratches, impacts, and moisture. There are transparent plastic windows over the autofocus and image stabilization (IS) controls. This camouflage lens coat effectively breaks up the regular shapes of the lens and helps to conceal it from wildlife. The package includes a zoom sleeve for the part of the lens that is exposed when zoomed out.
Effective Camouflage
Whether you want to hide your lens from wildlife or adapt it to another photographic situation ...
Temperature Shield
On a hot day, the surface of the lens can easily reach up to 70°C (340 K). Prevent damage from overheated lubricants in the lens, faster aging of plastics, and degradation of the high-quality glass elements.
Impact & Scratch Defense
Are you pushing through the forest, climbing rocks, occasionally giving your lens a knock or a scratch? Prevent damage while maintaining its full functionality.
Preserves Lens Value
A well-protected, clean, undamaged, and unscratched Canon RF 100-300mm lens can have a resale value higher by tens of percent.
Precision craftsmanship
Because I don’t have to rely on subcontractors from Eastern countries and I enjoy the craft, I can influence the production process almost immediately and respond to customer feedback practically instantly.
Available spare parts
Even though the protective covers for the Canon RF 100-300/2.8 L IS USM are affordable, replacing the entire set due to a damaged or lost piece is unnecessary and environmentally unsustainable. That’s why each part of the protective camouflage is available for individual purchase, ensuring you can replace only what you need without waste.
Selection of a range of color patterns
Each situation requires an optimal pattern. Camouflage in nature changes with the climate, geographic location, and season in which you are photographing. Conversely, at significant events, you may not want to distract, or you may want to stand out.

How was the protective cover developed – and what details does it offer for the Canon RF 100–300?
Development goal: protection without limiting operation
With a telephoto lens like the RF 100–300/2.8, it’s easy to make “some kind” of cover. The hard part is making one that protects, camouflages, and still doesn’t get in the way: switches, grip areas, the tripod collar, and the lens hood must remain as naturally usable as they are without a cover.
Preparation: testing, refining – again and again
Development at skin4gear isn’t just “measure and cut.” It’s a series of real-world tests in hand and out in the field: mount it, remove it, reverse the hood, rotate the collar, switch stabilization, check everything — and only then fine-tune the pattern so it truly makes sense in real use.
No compromises: two versions of the switch window
Everyone shoots in different conditions — that’s why the package includes two solutions for the switch window:
- Window with a transparent film: better protection of the switches against water and dirt in rain / wet snow.
- Open window: the fastest and most comfortable way to operate the switches, with or without gloves.
The strength is in the details: no adhesive, no “mess” on your lens
Many photographers know classic tape camouflage that softens in heat, leaves residue, and can mark the lens barrel after removal. Here, the cover is secured with hook-and-loop (Velcro). It’s more demanding to manufacture precisely, but for you it means:
- a clean lens with no adhesive residue,
- fast repeated mounting and removal,
- a long-term premium look for your gear.
Thanks for real-world feedback during development
A big part of the fine-tuning comes from practical feedback — thanks to Andreas Bez for the help and testing during the development of this cover.
Summary – benefits and practical limitations of the neoprene cover (Canon RF 100–300mm)
Benefits
- Surface protection & small-impact cushioning – neoprene protects the coating, markings, and barrel from abrasion.
- Camouflage + fewer reflections – the matte surface and patterns break up the lens outline.
- Thermal insulation – slows down rapid heating and cooling; the lens behaves more consistently.
- More comfortable grip – less slippery in the hand and doesn’t feel as cold or as hot.
- Better value retention – normal cosmetic wear happens on the cover, not on the lens.
- Service-friendly – if a part is lost or damaged, you don’t necessarily need to buy the whole set again (individual parts are possible).
- Lens hood stays reversible – even with the neoprene cover mounted, you can reverse the hood for transport as usual
- Full tripod collar rotation – the tripod collar can rotate freely through the full range without restrictions.
Practical limitations / what to keep in mind
- Slightly larger lens diameter – neoprene adds a few millimeters. In most bags/backpacks this isn’t an issue, but with very tight cases you should expect a bit less clearance.

Photomag –
Great cover, unlike easycover, which fell apart quickly, the edges look better finished, sealed. The camouflage pattern is also very good.
Svatopluk Žídek –
Perfect. From now on, all my new wildlife lenses will be only ski4gear. Thanks, Dalibor!
Andreas Bez (verified owner) –
I’m thrilled with the protective cover from skin4gear.
It fits 100% and helps preserve the value of the lens.
For me, it’s a must-have for anyone who owns such an expensive lens.
