Canon has announced the latest addition to its RF lens lineup – the RF100-300mm F2.8L IS USM telephoto zoom lens. It offers a greater reach than the traditional 70-200mm lens, making it a more flexible alternative to existing EF 300mm F2.8 lenses. The new lens is expected to be available in May 2023 at a recommended price of $9,499.
The RF100-300mm F2.8L IS USM lens features a dual Nano USM motor for autofocus and a complex design that includes 23 elements in 18 groups. Among them are one fluorite element, four ultra-low dispersion UD elements, and one aspherical lens. The lens offers 5.5EV of stabilization correction when tested using standard CIPA methods, or the stabilization system can coordinate with R3, R5, and R6 models to achieve a 6.0EV.
This lens is designed with professionals in mind and is ideal for indoor sports, motorsports, outdoor fashion, video, cinema, photojournalism, and theater work. The RF100-300mm F2.8L IS USM lens is compatible with Canon 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters, making it a versatile addition to any photography kit.
There will be a neoprene camouflage protective sleeve for this lens and a matching ET-124 lens hood when it hits the market. Don’t miss the opportunity to pre-order the neoprene protective sleeve at a discounted price now.
The neoprene camouflage cover not only protects the lens from dust, water, and minor impacts but also excellently camouflages the lens, which you will appreciate when photographing wildlife.
